MGL: Data-Driven Insights Streamline Operations

Challenges

Founded in 1983, Michael Gerald Limited (MGL) is a California-based casual lifestyle apparel company known for its popular apparel brands, including Retrofit, Xtreme Gear, Method, Commerce, and Trash Nouveau. They approached Visionet to implement Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations and integrate it with PartnerLinQ, our Microsoft-approved EDI product. After the success of the project, MGL partnered with Visionet again to further enhance their ERP capabilities.

MGL’s business processes were different from other apparel companies. They needed to align these processes and the functionality of their enterprise applications to ensure frictionless operations. With limited personnel to handle IT and operations, MGL also needed to group multiple roles so users could perform end-to-end processing on high-volumes of large-quantity orders.

Solution

As part of our managed services for Microsoft Dynamics, Visionet addressed processes that were not part of the original implementation scope. Our experts determined which of MGL’s existing custom processes were absolutely necessary, and supplemented their software accordingly to better facilitate warehouse management. For all other processes and reports, we recommended MGL to adopt industry standards. We also modified packing processes so thousands of shipments could be processed simultaneously instead of one at a time.

Visionet’s specialized reporting empowered MGL’s sales teams to make sound order-promising decisions based on relevant real-time data. It also enhanced C-level reporting by providing all relevant sales data and enabling decision makers to drill down into profitable products and top-performing sales personnel.
