Why your SAP ECC migration doesn't have to take two years anymore

Ask any enterprise IT leader who has lived through an ERP migration and you'll hear the same story. Eighteen months in, the project is behind schedule. The data migration is messier than expected. The integrations are holding everything up. The consultants are still reconciling numbers in spreadsheets. And the business is losing patience. 

This has been the norm for so long that many organizations simply accept it as the price of modernization. They budget for it. They staff for it. They brace for it.

The old model and why it broke down

The five phases, discovery, design and configuration, data, mock runs/UAT, and cutover, are familiar to anyone who has run an ERP project. What's different is what happens inside each phase. 

How the four streams work with agents 

Stream 1: Process Discovery 

Before any configuration can begin, the project team needs to understand how the business actually operates in SAP and how those processes map to Dynamics 365 standard functionality. 

The agentic approach uses a library of pre-mapped SAP business processes, what SAP itself calls BPML (Business Process Master List), and runs AI-assisted mapping against Dynamics 365 standard process flows. Stream 2: System Configuration 

Because Dynamics 365 exposes over 650,000 user actions via MCP, not as API wrappers, but as simulations of actual user behavior inside the system, configuration agents can read SAP settings and translate them into the equivalent Dynamics configuration, working inside the system exactly as a human consultant would.

What the numbers look like 

The combined effect of agents across these four streams is a reduction in migration timelines of 25 to 35%, depending on the complexity of the source environment.
