Toromont CAT enables governed innovation with Power Platform (CoE)

As Microsoft Power Platform adoption expanded across Toromont Cat, the organization faced rapid growth of low-code/no-code solutions without centralized governance. This created limited visibility into Azure consumption and license usage, and increased the need for standardized controls to manage environments and deployments at scale.

The approach

To bring structure, control, and enterprise readiness to its Power Platform ecosystem, Toromont Cat implemented a Microsoft Power Platform Center of Excellence (CoE). The engagement included deploying the CoE in a pre-production sandbox aligned to production, completing the environment strategy and ALM pipelines, and enabling adoption through hands-on training for CoE admins, makers, and end users.

The impact

With a governed CoE foundation and standardized ALM processes, Toromont Cat enabled:

  • Improved governance and centralized oversight across Power Platform environments
  • Better visibility into platform usage, Azure consumption, and licensing
  • Cost optimization enablement through structured monitoring and controls
  • Enterprise-ready ALM pipelines to support scalable, repeatable deployments
  • Hands-on enablement for admins, makers, and end users to drive adoption and consistency
